I know I’m behind on posting about Cara’s adorable puppies. Sorry, but life and puppies kind of got in the way. Here’s a video of their puppy party. This was when the litter was 6 weeks old. They were just starting to take food treats and this was their first introduction to shaping and to the equipment used. They were also in a new space (my basement training room) and for the tunnel and ladder they were working with new people (thanks Krissy and Alexa!).
The party went really well from a training and socializaiton standpoint. I was lucky that the puppies chose that day to suddenly decide that food treats were awesome and to have 2 really talented dog trainers willing to help give Cara’s babies this great experience. I think there’s value in this type of puppy party, even if the training part doesn’t go as well as it did here.
Each puppy had 2 turns at each station lasting 2 minutes each. We recorded everything, but here’s a highlight reel featuring each puppy. Enjoy!
