It was time to say goodbye to our sweet silly boy with the awesome nose. Wally came to us as an unplanned addition, the stud fee puppy that Betty thought was too pretty to go to a pet home. Wally finished easily and did all the things for me when he was younger, earning the nickname “Wally the Wonder Dog” from his breeder Marsha Scharnberg. Agility wasn’t exactly his sport, but he did have some great runs and managed to win the PBGV Breed Medallion at the 2018 AKC Agility Invitational. Soon after that Wally let me know that scent work was his preferred game, so that’s where we focused the rest of his career.

Wally wasn’t closely related to most of our other PBGVs (other than his son Gromit), and always had his own personality. He could be extremely sweet and funny but also ridiculously persistent when he wanted something.  We’ll miss his antics and the house will definitely be quieter
